Portuguese side, Porto have done the unimaginable by axing Serie A holders, Juventus from the Champions League. The match went into extra time, Porto had a man sent off but yet managed to pull an exceptional result.
The last time Porto had such a huge achievement was in 2003-04 since under Jose Mourinho, 17-years ago. And what a way to repeat history, with ten men. Porto won the first leg at home by 2 goals to 1, knowing very well Juventus wasn’t going to let go easily in Turin, the team played their heart out.
Sergio Oliveira’s extra-time free-kick in the 115th minute was the deciding factor to qualify Porto for the quarter-finals. The match ended 3-2, however, Porto progressed on away goals.
Ronaldo has been blamed for turning his back in the wall when the free-kick was taken. Hence, commentators are beginning to question his future at the club, and the same applies to the manager, Andrea Pirlo. Will Ronaldo Stay, Will Pirlo be given another chance? Share your thoughts with us!
