British runway maven, Noami Campbell attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2018 with Nigerian Afrobeat whizz, Wizkid in stunning fashion. Noami appeared at the event in a Versace knee-level corset dress and thigh-high boots, while Wizkid opted for blue-black suit and bow-tie and white Nike sneakers to match his white long-sleeves shirt.
Naomi walked home with the Fashion Icon of the Year award, this is to remind all of us that even though the queen of the runway plans to retire soon, she will still be a dominant force in the industry.
Wizkid is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming album, Made In Lagos and was recently in the United States to launch his pop-up store which contains mainly designs inscribed with the album title, his childhood neighbourhood in Lagos. While Noami also made an announcement of a probable retirement from the runway a few months back, she continues to stamp her feet on the industry and this will remain even years after she has taken a bow.
The two are global powerhouses in their respective fields but Wizkid’s recent taste in fashion and Noami soft spot for Wizkid create the right bond for further works. An example of what to expect from them was when they gave us a glimpse at the Dolce and Gabanna Fashion event in Milan this year. Quite a refreshing bond, we are witnessing between the two!
