Rumour mill started swelling up regarding the possible sacking of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard. Finally, the club has issued official stated to confirm the news.
The club published the statement on Frank Lampard issued by the owner Roman Abramovich. He stated how difficult the decision came with but was necessary for the growth of the club at this moment.
Abramovich concluded by adding that the club’s all-time top scorer is always welcome back at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard was hired by Chelsea about 18 months ago when the club was facing a ban, hence, couldn’t sign players.
Lampard managed to qualify the team to the Champions League, reached the finals of the FA Cup. The team lost to Arsenal FC in the FA Cup finals.
He was then given about 200 Million Pounds and he signed players like Hakim Ziyech, Havertz, Timo Werner, however, these players have struggled with form.

“This was a very difficult decision for the Club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him’.
“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances, we believe it is best to change managers.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, the Board and personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as Head Coach and wish him every success in the future. He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. He will always be warmly welcomed back at Stamford Bridge.”
